We Will Remember
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.

At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.

THANK YOU
Dear Msgt Harold Deel,
Thank you for your service as a Fixed Wing Crewman. It is so important for us all to acknowledge the sacrifices of those like you who answered our nation's call. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.

Final Mission of MSGT Harold B. Deel
On May 10, 1969, a B-52D Stratofortress (# 56-0593) from the 509th Bomb Wing (attached to the 4133rd Bomb Wing) at Anderson Air Force Base in Guam, crashed into the Pacific Ocean after takeoff. The crew was taking part in an Arc Light mission to the Ho Chi Minh Trail on the North Vietnam/Laos border. The jet started a right turn shortly after leaving the runway and crashed into the sea. All six crewmen on board were killed. The lost crewmen included aircraft commander CAPT James L. Sipes, co-pilot 1LT Larry I. Broadhead, radar navigator CAPT Russell L. Platt, navigator 1LT Maurice E. Lundy, electronic warfare officer 1LT Thomas R. McCormick, and gunner MSGT Harold B. Deel. Remembering An American Hero
Dear MSGT Harold Butler Deel, sir
As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.
May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.
With respect, Sir
Curt Carter
