The Best. Dave was a true friend and patriot. A credit to the USAF and his country. My condolences to his family. We were a group--Holmes, Sieler, Scofield and Spivey.

I also have his bracelet

I am touched to read how many people have worn his bracelet.
My Father wore Major Holmes' POW/MIA bracelet for many years. My Dad passed away a couple of years ago, followed this summer by my stepmom. In going through the house, I found Dad's bracelet among his things. I had thought I would like to give the bracelet to the Major's family, but based on earlier postings and offers, I think the family may not want another one. The offer stands; however. In the meantime, I am glad to have had the chance to learn more about the man whose name my dad prayerfully wore for many years.

1972-1975 Bracelet

I am yet another wearer of "Maj. David Holmes" bracelet during my last 2 yrs in high school and my first year in college when the war ended. David's wife, Marilyn, wrote to me in March of 1972 and told me what a wonderful husband and father David was. I still have the letter along with his bracelet. Now, in my mid-60s, I pray that his remains will be found someday and he will come home.
