Cousin

I remember Ron as being the same age as my brother John. We didn't get to spend much time with your family after you moved to Umatilla. Would like to have seen you in your high school days. You most certainly missed and remembered. You are in our Erickson-DeVeiteo Family Tree.

Ron... school friend of 50+ years ago...

Ron was a great friend, school mate and all around person. Did a lot of sport with him before I had to leave Umatilla and move back to La Grande. Left La Grand and joined the Navy on my 17th birthday, Dec 29, 1963... Was aboard the Hospital Ship USS REPOSE (AH-17)off coast of Danang, Vietnam when I heard Ron had been killed in action. Was really a shock. First person I personally knew that died in Vietnam. I left the REPOSE in November '67 and came back to La Grande.
