Hank ... the man I never knew.

Hank, we shared about four years of MYF together. I was a year older than you. Chuck, Kyle and I were South San class of '65. So there was a lot of High School joking and competition. I remember you as a happy-go-lucky, high school teenager ... never got to know you as the man who went to war.

honoring a true hero

I knew Hank as we both lived in San Antonio and both loved lifting weights. He went to Holmes High and I, to Jefferson High. I have a most pleasant visual that has remained embossed in my head. We used the gym at Lackland AFB, I was always there by myself but Hank worked out with his dad and they were quite a partnership and I loved that. It was something most special between son and dad. I went to Vietnam as a Marine in 1967 so I lost rack of Hank learning later that he enlisted in the Army. I felt genuine grief and deep sympathy for how his dad took his son's loss. I am so sorry for the family who lost a son who was a genuine hero. GOD BLESS YOUR FAMILY, HANK. REST IN PEACE.
