I remember well…
the sadness that fell over Jacksonville High School and our little town when the news of your death was announced. I was a sophomore. Your brothers, were a year and two years older than me. I’ve been to our nation’s capital three times in my lifetime. On each visit I went to view your name on “The Wall.” That gesture is little, but all I can do to honor the great sacrifice, you, your wife, child, and family made for our country… except, perhaps, to live my life with gratitude, ever-mindful of the price you and your family paid in service for our nation.

honoring you...
Thank you for your service to our country so long ago sir. While all deaths in Vietnam are tragic that you died just two days after your 25th birthday is especially so. May you rest in eternal peace.
