My Instructor In MATS

You were the best Instructor and Examiner in the 18th ATS at McGuire AFB, NJ. I loved flying with you as did everyone. You were a very special person with a fantastic sense of humor. You are a person I have never forgot and will never forget. I still have my wings and proud of them. I remember how you said you would die and that is the way you said you would go. How did you know?

do not stand at my grave and weep

Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there. I did not die.

Memories of the 310 ACS

During 1965 i was a volunteer “flarkicker” for the 310 ACS at Nha Trang RVN.
It was at this time that I got to know Hugh Crotwell and Abbie Hoffman. I flew several missions with them. I rotated back to the USA in November 65 and learned of their passing in mid 66. I share the grief felt by the family. They were fine NCOs who served our country honorably. I have been to the “wall” in DC and placed my hand upon their names to let them know they are remembered
