Remembering An American Hero

Dear 2LT David Lynn Barber, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir

Curt Carter

It didn't really cross my mind...

that when you and the platoon moved off down the road on that morning, I wouldn't have a chance to say goodbye. Both Doc and I have made trips back to there and had our own personal remembrances of you. Thanks for all you did and tried to do. We all still miss you, and are glad that you are still a part of our lives, today. I wish that somehow you know that we continue our quest to return Kelley, Scott, and Guillory to their homes and loving families (refno 1145). "GarryOwen", forever, my friend.
