We Will Remember

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.

Thank You

Dear Sp4 Dennis Hinton, Thank you for your service as a Light Vehicle Driver. Today is the Army's birthday - happy birthday. Today is Flag Day. There is no better way to respect the flag than to honor you all. Watch over the USA, it still needs your strength. Rest in peace with the angels.

Final Mission of SP4 Dennis R. Hinton

SP4 Dennis R. Hinton was trained as a light vehicle driver serving with the 610th Engineer Company. His unit was stationed at a place called 14 K in an area dominated by dense jungle. On October 10, 1971, SP4 Hinton was on convoy duty on Highway QL-21 near Ban M-Yui, 13 miles west of Duc My Airfield, when the group was ambushed by enemy rocket and AK-47 fire. Hinton was critically wounded in the attack. After he was pulled from his vehicle and laid outside on the ground, it was reported that Hinton did not say a word but laid there and looked at his watch, then passed away shortly thereafter.
