Remembering An American Hero
Dear SGT Alvin Gene Hill, sir
As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.
May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.
With respect, Sir
Curt Carter

Gone but NEVER forgotten
I knew Gene almost as long as I knew myself. We were great friends from about the 2nd grade or earlier. After graduation, I went away to the Navy and he went to college for a short time and then on to the Army where he continued to excell, to Truly be the Best That He Can Be. I lost my brother in Korea and Gene in Vietnam, along with many friends and fellow Vets. Honor, Patriotism, and love of Country. He wrote a blank check, payable to the USA, for up to, and including, his life, for Freedom and Liberty. Now he guards the Halls of Heaven. God speed, Soldier.
