Never forgotten

Just learned 3 years ago of your splendid service and ultimate sacrifice , I lived just down the street from you when I was 15 , friends with your brother Tommy , saddens me still , but know this you will never be forgotten nor any of your comrades. Peace of God continue with you all. L. Pickett

I remember the day my Mama stopped to pick you up hitch hiking. I was only 4 maybe 5.. I remember Mama asking you where you were going.. Proudly you said to enlist and Mama wished you good luck. See you went to fight for country by your choice. I also remember the day they came to notify your family I was only 5 but my Daddy was a Soilder too... All I ever known was Vietnam just by chance they turned at our house to ask if they were on right street..Mama had dropped the mail and was sobbing before they got highway to her.. No it wasn't my Daddy but still was a young guy I remembered and from that day on you have been a hero in my eyes.. Thank You for giving your life for our country..
