A young infantry paratrooper whom I remembered across these many years. Your name will be on the 173d Airborne monument soon. Took me longer than it should have but you were never forgotten by the Charlie Company guys who survived .

Ground Casualty
PFC James C. Banks was an Airborne-qualified infantryman serving with C Company, 1st Battalion, 503rd Infantry, 173rd Airborne Brigade. On August 27, 1967, PFC Banks was near a burn pit at a military site in Vietnam where trash was being burned. He was fatally injured by metal fragments when a mortar round among the trash suddenly exploded. [Taken from coffeltdatabase.org]
