Dear Lcpl Gerald Hetrick, Thank you for your service as a Tracked Vehicle Repairman. Yesterday was Memorial Day when we honor you. I could not post then because this site was overwhelmed. Please watch over the USA, it still needs your courage. Rest in peace with the angels.

I love you even though I never got to meet you. You are my uncle. The eldest of my mother’s siblings. You sacrificed your life in an effort to protect the future of your family. I will continue to honor your memory. Give Gramma and Grandpa a hug for me... Aunt Marsha, Uncle John, and Uncle Lefty too! Gone but not forgotten.

My name is Eric Larson (known as Ricky) then, we lived in Newberry in 1954 - 1955. I lived on West Avenue D. I played with Butch as a child. I was aware that he died in Vietnam.
