Ground Casualty

SP5 Lawrence G. Bangs was a construction equipment repairer serving with A Company, 864th Engineer Battalion. On June 20, 1970, SP5 Bangs died in Binh Thuan Province, RVN, as the result of burns received while arc welding when the torch accidently set off an explosion of a fuel tank. Bangs was admitted to a military medical facility and later expired. [Taken from coffeltdatabase.org]
