Elijah, I am in the company of your brother Henry who is painting my house. He told me about you and I looked you up. Thank you for your service and your sacrifice. My two brothers, Willie and John Smith also served.

PFC Elijah Herring Jr. served with Motel Company, 3rd Battalion, 26th Marines, 1st Marine Division, 3rd Marine Amphibious Force. He was killed by enemy fire near An Hoa (Coffelt Database).

Your sacrifice is not forgotten.
