Ground Casualty

On January 31, 1968, the Hue-Phu Bai Air Field in Thua Thien Province, RVN, was subjected to a Viet Cong mortar and rocket attack. Two U.S. personnel were killed in the barrage, a Marine rifleman, PFC William S. Gordon from Marine Air Base Squadron 36 (MABS-36), and a Navy corpsman, HM1 Daniel B. Henry, who was assigned to C Company, 1st Medical Battalion, 1st Marine Division. Both suffered fatal fragmentation wounds during the attack. [Taken from coffeltdatabase.org]
