THE WALL OF FACES

Remembering Mike on his birthday, 5/29/43 (Memorial Day 5/29/23) and
as a fellow seminarian of Maryknoll at the College in Glen Ellyn, IL.
He was on one of the school papers, Glen Echo or Dupage, one year behind me. It seems we both left Maryknoll in 1966 and ended up in Vietnam. I there Jan-Dec, 1968 as psych specialist with med Co. of the 25ID. It seems he in a FO plane when hit by ground fire shortly before he was to rotate back to the "World." As with too many, a life was cut short while he had a lot to give back.

Thank you for your service to our country so long ago sir. The remembrances from your sisters Patricia and Paula are touching and reflect their eternal love for you. As long as you are remembered you will remain in our hearts forever….

Dear Lt Michael Hendrickson,
Thank you for your service as an Infantry Officer, Your 76th birthday is soon,, happy birthday. It's Mother's Day Weekend. The war was years ago, but we all need to acknowledge the sacrifices of those like you who answered our nation's call. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness. Rest in Peace with the angels.

After over 50 years ago I still vividly recall that day, while flying "wing", of your passing as you and Al Tripp were marking the target for the "fast movers". John Disney and I, as well as the rest of the Aerial Observers, would dedicate a toast to you at the club every time that we entered.RIP Mike. We will meet again. Semper Fidelis Marine

It has been a lifelong blessing for me, my friend, to have traveled, as we did, the same path as fellow Maryknoll seminarians so very long ago. Now, still remembering you 50 years after you gave everything for our great nation - America the Beautiful
