Homecoming memorial Steak dinner

Derrick Henderson I thank you for you sacrafice. If you ask a soldier far from home what they want first when they get home , often its a big steak dinner. Its an such an American thing. EVERY day I prepare and share a big NY steak in honor and memory and with ( in spirit) a fallen soldier who never got a homecoming steak dinner. Tonite Derrick Henderson I dine with you. You are never forgotten .
Welcome home!

Remembering Derrick Henderson

To EVERYONE of you who misses, and honors Derrick, I want you to know what a great buddy, neighbor, schoolmate and friend he was.. I'm an old man now and like him, in our 74th yr...we were a tight group of good, sensible, intelligent young men in the Tolleston HS ROTC rifle and drill team together, and I can still hear his voice when all the guys were talking about joining the military, and he and Freddie Harps and me said we're "joining the Marines".. I knew his parents also.. and I want EVERYBODY to know he was and is a GREAT guy who will always be loved and missed by his childhood friends, and fellow Marines...SEMPER FI (always faithful)... I pray that God will let us meet up in Heaven..

honoring you...

Thank you for your service to our country so long ago sir. I am 73 and have lived a long and fulfilling life. It is tragic you never had that same opportunity. May you rest in eternal peace.
