Remembering the sacrifice that Peter made.
February 2, 1968 during the Tet Offensive my brother George Gottwald who was a close friend of Peter’s tried save Peter. George knew Peter was wounded and on the other side of the rice paddy. George made his way through the water but was shot . He kept going anyway and was shot again. He continued just the same to reach Peter. He did reach Peter but neither of them survived. They were both missing in Action for 2 weeks. When they were found, Georgie was lying on top of Peter. The rest of their troop survived. That is how we know this story. You see, George’s brother Fred, joined the army after he lost George. Fred just had to see what his Irish Twin had suffered. Fred later contacted the other soldiers who were there the day Georgie and Peter died. The story is confirmed by those surviving soldiers. Peter was there Medic and George was their lead commander. Why have they not received the Medal of Honor for their bravery and sacrifice to save their men? You will see their names on the Vietnam wall in n the order that they died. George is on top of Peter, exactly how they were found! Rest in the sweetest peace! We will never forget you! ♥️ ♥️

We Will Remember
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.
