In Memory of Pvt. Robert Lee Ballard, Jr.....
Brother, not a day goes by that I, your little brother, don't think of you. I often wonder what it would be like if you had made it home from the war. Our sisters are always telling the story about when you ran into the wall so hard that it knocked out and how they cradled you in their arms until you regained conscious. Mom and Dad always said good words about you until the day that they passed away. You were a great loss to them, but they knew that your dying wasn't in vain. For there is no greater love than for a man to lay down his life for his brothers. You will always be our Hero. You will never be forgotten by you sisters Viola, Carolyn, Debra, Dorothy, Shelia and Shirley. And of course your brother, Robert Darryl. Thank you for your sacrifice and your willingness to serve your country. We love you and always will remember you.

The Lord Had A Plan
Brother, today mark the 55th year since you've been gone. The Lord had a plan for you, so he decided to call you home. We would have love to have seen you marching in your uniform, with your shinning boots coming up the driveway, but the Lord had other plans for you, so he called you to his home. We can't imagine what it would have been like to see the smiling faces of your Mother and Father if they had seen that young man stepping up to give them the hug of their life, to be so proud of their son, and what he had done with his life. But rest assure we're greatful and proud that your Sacrifice was not in vain, for trying to save as many as you could in that distant foreign land. I know that my Father would have been glad to shake HIS soldier's hand, to welcome his home among the family clan. But, always remember, you did your job the best that you could. Through the rain, heat and terrifying land, but the Lord called you home, because he had another plan.

Birthday In Heaven
Happy Birthday my brother. Today would have been your 74th birthday celebration. We will always remember and never shall forget the sacrifice and bravery that you and so many more military personnel made so that one day myself and others can celebrate 74 years of age and many more after. Love you my brother.

MY BIG BROTHER
God shared you with me and we were like Ike and Mike, inseparable, but then you decided there was a different calling on your life.
You went, you served, and you left me here. But, there will come a day we will see each other again. In the mean time say hello to Mom and Dad.
I will see you when this war of life is over.
Your big sis.
Viola
