LAST MISSION

Lloyd was born in Vincennes, Indiana and grew up in Elgin, Illinois, where he graduated from high school.
He enlisted in the US Navy 7 July 1965 in Indianapolis and received medical training. Upon arriving in Vietnam he was assigned to H & S Company, 2nd Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division. He was attached as a Corpsman to Golf Company, 2nd Battalion, 3rd Marine Division. Lloyd died of as a result of gunshot wounds to the body from hostile small arms fire in the vicinity of Houng Hoa District and Hill 881 North and 8 kilometers west northwest of Khe Sanh Airfield, during Operation Beacon Star.
He served his country for 1 year, 9 months and 25 days and was KIA #11,799.
Tour of duty unknown.
Lloyd was 21 years, 3 months and 18 days old.
Survived by his wife, Barbara Jean Heath and a daughter; Amber Lee Heath (born 23 December 1966) of 302 Twilight Trail, Streamwood, Illinois, and his parents; Doyle N and Frances Heath and his sister, Brenda of Route #1, Box 39, Bicknell, Indiana.

Hospitalman Lloyd Lavern Heath, Served with the Headquarters and Service Company, 2nd Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division, Third Marine Amphibious Force. He was assigned to Company G, 2nd Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division, when he was killed in action.
