Thank You

Dear Cpl William Hays,
Thank you for your service as an Aircraft CNE/WEAPONS/DECM Systems Technician. It is Easter week. The war was years ago, but we all need to acknowledge the sacrifices of those like you who answered our nation's call. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.

Humbled to Share the Name

I discovered you by chance at the wall in D.C. I was looking through the book and decided to see what Hays' might be on the wall. To my surprise, I found my exact name, your name, the name we share.

My perspective changed that day. I gained a stark new perspective on the sacrifice made by so many. I am honored to have the same name as such a soldier who gave everything. I think of William Brian Hays often and when I do, I say a pray for his family.

Not only do we share the name, but we also share the same home state. I still have to take a moment when I think about William Brian Hays. Thank you Brian, for you service, sacrifice and dedication to this great country that I am so blessed to live in now. You are never forgotten sir! Thank you - with the utmost respect and honor.

Remembering An American Hero

Dear CPL William Brian Hays, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir

Curt Carter

Knew Hayes well.

I remember Hayes well. He and I sat at the very bar in his picture, drinking beers. He often spoke about how to coon hunt.

I enjoyed his company, he was a good guy.
