honoring a brave West Virginian I never knew

I hope someone who loved John will read this. I'm a retired teacher in Pittsburgh. I was born and raised in Charleston WV. The traveling Viet Nam memorial wall was here. Today I attended a beautiful Memorial Day ceremony at the site. It's on the fields of the high school where I substitute teach. An honor for the suburb of Shaler PA and amazing that we got to experience it on this holiday. I graduated from Charleston Catholic High School in 1968. I do not know anyone on the wall, so I asked them to look up names for my hometown. They gave me two names, John and another one. I learned how to find them on the wall and how to do a pencil rubbing. I did one for the other guy but John's name was too high up and I couldn't reach it. I thought of him and all the West Virginians who died in that awful war. John will be part of my memories of this day. I would be honored to hear from you. Ms. Elise Power
