So proud of you

We didn't know each other (I was only 8 when you died and I lived in Nebraska) but we are cousins. I occasionally get to DC and I always touch your name on the Vietnam Memorial and say a prayer for you. I very much would like to track down a bracelet with your name on it, but they are hard to find!

God bless!

Remembering An American Hero

Dear LCPL Michael William Havranek, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, Sir

Curt Carter

Your brothers will never leave or forget you.

I wear a small bit of metal on my wrist with your name, rank, branch of service and MIA date on it. I joined the world just shy of 12 years after your final mission. We grew up in the same town, we fished the same rivers, we watched the same sunsets over Frenchtown.

You are missing but never forgotten.
