Still think fondly of you.

Mike, thanks for following the honor of dating you in High School and writing to you after you went into the Navy. I'll never forget having to go to the pist office to pick up the returned cookies I had sent you. The gun salute at your service was something I will always remember, and I understood you mother refusing the flag offered to her. You were brave, always a gentleman. Thanks for your's and your family's sacrifice.

To My Brother

My dear Mike, it was only yesterday when we were kids living next door and raising unbelievable mischief during our young lives. The bond will never be broken. You went away too soon from us all but you still live within me daily my brother. I'll always treasure our times and we'll be together again soon. Sorry I didn't go with you when you left but God had a different plan for us. You are and always will be my Hero Mike.

Remembering An American Hero

Dear HN Michael Wayne Haskins, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir

Curt Carter
