Remembering An American Hero
Dear PFC Alan Daryl Harvey, sir
As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.
May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.
With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir
Curt Carter

To My Beloved Brother
It's been almost 42 years since you left yet I have never forgotten you. You were the best brother a sister could ask for. Thank you for being so good to me, loving me. I've always wondered what my life would be like if you were still around. It's been tough, but I remember what you said in your last letter to me 'Put forth good ole Harvey in you and don't let me down.' I hope I haven't. Much love to you always, your sister

You are my friend and I am proud of you.
Daryl was my friend when we were in school together in Tallahassee. He was someone that I respected and would stand up for his beliefs. We didn't get to see each other as much when we found girlfriends, but he always had that big smile when we did see each other. I was in training at Parris Island when I was notified that he had died in Viet Nam. Since then, I have never forgotten, nor will I forget, what he did for his country, his family and for me. I am so proud to say that he is my friend and that I know a true hero.
