Chip's homecoming surprise party / last leave back home

I was about seven years old and lived next door to Chip and his parents in Palos Heights. I was known as Ricky. One warm summer night a couple of young people called out to me, Ricky were having a surprise party for Chip. Hurry up and get in here so we can all hide. He walked in the front door and we all jumped out and said SUPRISE! We all eat drank pop and had a great time. Your life is ever lasting. We will all see you again. Enjoy the universe.

Remembering you always.

Remembering you Chip, along with your mother & father, as you were their only child. You made the ultimate sacrifice and they lived out theirs as well. Though I was a child when you died, now 65, I will never forget you and your ultimate sacrifice.
Eternal love,
Diane

honoring you...

Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there. I did not die.

Thank You

Dear Lt Fred Hartman,
Thank you for your service as an Infantry Officer. Today is Palm Sunday. The war was years ago, but we all need to acknowledge the sacrifices of those like you who answered our nation's call. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.
