Juicy Fruit Gum
I grew up across the street from John and he, his brothers, and my brother, who were all quite a few years older than me, all hung out. They all took me under their wings and protected me. John always had a stick of Juicy Fruit gum for me and when he was sent to Viet Nam, which I had no understanding of, he would send me gum from way over there! When he died, being that I was only 5 yrs old, I did not comprehend what had happened. His younger brother Jim, took over for John, and started sending me JuicyFruit gum. After Jim came back, and for as long as I can remember, he always had a piece of gum in his pocket for me, in remembrance of his brother, John. God bless you John, and Jim, and all you went through during that incredibly senseless war.

Love you brother
On this Memorial Day I’m thinking of you brother, my best friend, the one I always looked up to. I’ll concentrate on the wonderful memories we had growing up. Until we meet again and can travel the roads in Ohio and Indiana in your 65 Volkswagen “bug”. A life cut way too short, but one that is never forgotten.
