Thank You

Dear Cpl Thomas Harris,
Thank you for your service as an Airborne Qualified Infantryman. It is Lent, which is a time of preparation. The war was years ago, but we all need to acknowledge the sacrifices of those like you who answered our nation's call. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.

Remembering An American Hero

Dear CPL Thomas Wyatt Harris, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir

Curt Carter

We remember.

I take my family to your final resting place many day's of the year. We keep the headstone clean and often talk to you as we do so. The view from that resting place high upon the hill seems appropriate for a screaming eagle. The lazy clouds and sound of the wind whipping about reminds one of an eagle in flight. The solitude gives you time to think and a time to thank you. You were the oldest grandson and we all looked up to you. I remember you taking all of your younger cousins including myself up for ice cream several times. All I remember of your character is kindness. I was too young to remember much else except the day you left in your uniform for Vietnam. Many of our questions will remain unanswered. Many what ifs will never come to light. Many of us continue to miss you. We embrace your memory and your life. We will continue to watch over your resting place with flowers and the American flag. Always know, that you are in thoughts.

Not forgotten

Thomas, Although we never met, I just want you to know you are not forgotten. You gave the ultimate sacrifice, your life for what you believed in. Sleep well my friend, and thank you for protecting the freedoms we enjoy today.
