April 30th, 1968
i was always your point man, except on the fateful day of April 30th, 1968. i started out as your point man that afternoon. as some senior officers pointed us into an azimuth that was 180 degrees incorrect. As you were always second just behind the point man, when we revered formation your ran to get behind your new point man.
Being the last man in our reversed formation, I did not see the ambush we rushed into.
The stories go that you attacked the enemy bunkers that our enemy laid the trap in front of us. With your 45 blazing you bought your Marines some valuable time for us to regroup and take cover. This gave us time to call in airstrikes that saved countless lives.
Sir, you are a true hero to me and the many Marines that served with you.

Your legacy lives on
LT,
Sitting here at my Commanding Officer's desk at Villanova NROTC and thinking about all the greatness that has risen from your ashes. Wish you were here to see all the MIDN who have come through your old Battalion. They have most certainly benefited from the Memorial Fund in your honor. Stronger than ever as we send these young men and women out into the Fleet and FMF to uphold your legacy!
Semper Fidelis,
Col Vincent Ciuccoli

Thank You
Dear Lt Patrick Harrington,
Thank you for your service as an Infantry Officer. It is Lent, which is a time of preparation. The war was years ago, but we all need to acknowledge the sacrifices of those like you who answered our nation's call. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.
