REMEMBRANCES

LEFT FOR FREDERICK WILLIAM BALDAUF
POSTED ON 1.27.2012

For PFC Frederick William BALDAUF, USMC...another of Pittsburgh's bravest of heroes, bar none!!!!!!!

He loved us so.
Every day, in a hundred ways, he told us so.
In honesty, in affection, he told us so.
He loved us so.
Every day, in a hundred ways, he showed us so.
With loyalty and bravery, he showed us so.
He was our defender, and he kept us free!
He took an oath to guard us, and fought for liberty!
He loved us so, and we should know.
For we loved him so.
PFC Baldauf, you have performed great deeds, brave deeds for your country, and for that WE ALL are proud of you. You have lived up to the Marine Corps motto, SEMPER FIDELIS...Always Faithful...for you had been faithful to your country, to the Corps, to your fellow Marines, to your family, and to yourself.
I believe that Avonmore's (and Pittsburgh's) own, Jill Corey, whom I immensely admire as one of my three top favorite songbirds, along with Julie Andrews and Dusty Springfield, would be prouyd of your service to America. SEMPER FI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Putting A Face With A Name

Frederick, to honor your memory and the sacrifice you made for your country I want to make sure your photo will be displayed on your birthday when the Education Center is completed, so it is with great pride and humility that I post this remembrance and picture of you that I found in your high school yearbook. You are not forgotten and remain in the hearts of many all these years later. You have been designated to be one of God's special angels, along with the love of my life, who also sacrificed his life during this war. You and I were from the same city, Pittsburgh, but did not know each other. God Bless You Frederick for being who you were and for all you did--we live in freedom to this day thanks to heroes like you.

Always Remembered

I will never forget the sacrifices made by all of the Vietnam soldiers and will keep all of you in my heart until my last day on earth.

Your journey on earth ended too soon, but you will have everlasting life in heaven.

Thank you for your bravery and courage.

Rest in peace dear soldier.

Do not stand at my grave and weep

Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sun on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there; I did not die.

Mary Frye – 1932
