My best childhood friend

I lived in Murray Iowa from 1944 to 1950. Don and I went to school together for many of those years. We were in the same grade and were not afraid to stand up for ourselves against anyone including each other. Don was a great friend for a boy growing up in a small town. I first heard of his death in Viet Nam when I was working in Des Moines a few months after I left the military with 9 years in the same army Don served in. I miss him yet today. I would have enjoyed growing old with my old childhood buddy. Bill Clevenger.

Thank You

Dear WO Don Harger,
Thank you for your service as a Fixed Wing Pilot. It is now Lent. The war was years ago, but we all need to acknowledge the sacrifices of those like you who answered our nation's call. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.

Remembering An American Hero

Dear WO Don R Harger, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir

Curt Carter
