honoring you...
A butterfly lights beside us like a sunbeam
And for a brief moment its glory
and beauty belong to our world
But then it flies again
And though we wish it could have stayed...
We feel lucky to have seen it.

Concordia College Friend and Teammate
Pete was a fellow Livedalen Hall resident our freshman year (1964-65) and we were teammates on the Cobber Freshman Basketball Team...he was a very good player. I spent a couple weekends in Ortonville with Pete and Mick Hausauer. We were surprised when he volunteered for the Army and became a Long Range Reconnaissance Patrol (LRRP or "Lerps") member. We missed him and were so saddened when we learned he was KIA. I attended his funeral in Ortonville...he had a wonderful family who loved him dearly. After college I was drafted into the Army and Pete's memory made me proud to serve.
