Thank You
Dear PFC Horace Hampton,
Thank you for your service as an Airborne Qualified Infantryman. Your 53rd anniversary is next week, sad. Today is the last day of winter. The war was years ago, but we all need to acknowledge the sacrifices of those like you who answered our nation's call. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.

Remembering Private Hampton
Like so many others (perhaps ALL of you), you were too young to die. I was pleased to see that your high school classmates remember you so fondly. I did not know you, but that goes for most Vietnam Veterans'. I did have two teachers that were veterans of Vietnam. Thank you for your service, Mr. Hampton, Private Hampton. You have the thanks of a grateful nation.

In Memory of a Pinevale Legend
Horace,
Your Class of 1964 is celebrating your 50th High School Reunion this weekend.
You were a vibrant, energetic member of that class, your infectious personality,
Your strength and leadership as #42 on the winning team that gave PHS our state championship! You were a great big brother to your sister and her friends and as one of those friends, I benefitted from knowing you!!!
Horace, our hair today is gray, many of us are grandparents and even great grandparents but you, my friend will always be young and in our hearts.
You made Valdosta so proud and we still honor your courage and service to our country.

Remembering An American Hero
Dear PFC Horace Alvester Hampton, sir
As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.
May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.
With respect, Sir
Curt Carter
