honoring you...

A butterfly lights beside us like a sunbeam
And for a brief moment its glory
and beauty belong to our world
But then it flies again
And though we wish it could have stayed...
We feel lucky to have seen it.

Thank You

Dear Cpl Teddy Hamel,
Thank you for your service as an Infantryman with the 1st Cavalry. The war was years ago, but we all need to acknowledge the sacrifices of those like you who answered our nation's call. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.

Served together in Vietnam

Teddy was killed shortly after I came home in 1969. He was known by the whole company by the nickname of "Onionhead". That was his self professed call sign on the radio. He was a very popular member of C 2/12 First cavalry Division. His death saddened every one of us. RIP
