MY BEST FRIEND (Doc) as your Marine buddies would call YOU!
Hi Bobby:)
We were, we always will be, the best of friends! We grew up together in Novelty, a great place to be young and full of life. Cub Scouts, your mom the leader, I think you and I were six when first we meet, friends at first sight. High school, football you were number 44, track, Dog-n-Suds, girls we dated, midnight steaks by your pool, diving into the pool New Year's Eve going through the ice, yes those were the days! Pat Estenes, Bill Mormile, and yours truly Gary Rossomme. We had some fun, a marvelous town of Chesterland to grow up in! You and Pat to the Navy, Bill to the Air Force, and me to the Army. Who would have known the way it played out? My son is named after YOU! Bill is gone now, Pat and I are still fighting the good fight. The country is not what you would remember but many of us are still fighting for the thing YOU fought and gave your life for!!! Your mom, still a JOY, a fantastic marvelous person. To say I miss you would be a great understatement. Fifty two years! Very few days go by without me thinking of you. There was a class reunion five years back. At the beginning of our dinner and dance, Jane Lowrey gave Pat, Bill, and I an opportunity to give your mom a picture of the four of us with the parts of that dollar bill we divided between us the last night we all were together before leaving for the military. It was truly my highest honor to reflect on our friendship and to speak of YOU!! Thanks for the memories! Very sorry your life was cut so short!! Your memories, and the Army certainly changed my life! God bless you my friend, keep a light on for me when you see me coming in:) Miss you always!! Gary Rossomme 678-662-6163
