Weather Detachment Commander
I was the weather detachment commander when A1C Baker arrived at Binh Thuy AB, Vietnam. I left in July 1967 before he was killed. I remember when he arrived. He was an outstanding young man and I proud to have served with him and sad to learn of his death.

I will always remember you !!!
I was there that night in a bunker (Conex) behind the Comm Center quonset hut praying and cursing !! 110 mortar rounds that night. I have 2 pieces of shrapnel on my dresser to remember you and that night. You were the only casualty that night and I will never forget !!!!

I did not know (Bakes) Baker but was nearby on the aircraft parking area when he was killed by a mortar round that struck the Buin Thuy control tower March 22,1968.
