One of the very best.
Pat was one of the finest young men I ever met in Vietnam. He was flying as the C.O.'s pilot and was making a rocket run on a VC position in the An Loa valley when shot down. Major Tom Mendenhall and three others were also killed in the action. Pat was one of the best pilots I ever met and he shared his knowledge with all of us. He also was a friend and was well like be everyone in the Troop. His death was a severe blow to each of us, and I know his memory lives on in many of those he touched.
