Petty Officer Third Class Craig Ward Haines was awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal , with Combat Distinguishing Device (V), for his sustained heroism in action. He served as a Radarman and was assigned to PCF-22, COSDIV 11, Task Force 115.

It was long ago that mom told me that Cousin Craig died in the war. I remember her telling Steve and I, but at that time we couldn’t understand the impact of what you did for our country. Cousin Craig, thank you for your service and watch over us.

Thank you for your service as a Radioman 3rd Class. The war was years ago, but we all need to acknowledge the sacrifices of those like you who answered our nation's call. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.
