A Friend

Vic, I'll never forget the night you got me in a headlock and gave me the Mother of all Dutch rubs! My God man, you were strong. I wish I would've know you were in Vietnam, we might've been able to get together for a cold one. You are missed Vic, a hole opened up in the world when you left us. I know my brother misses you terribly. You're one of the 'good guys'.

Remembering An American Hero

Dear PFC Victor Milford Haglund Jr, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir

Curt Carter

Hero

Dear Victor,
I am a student at Gridley High School in Gridley Illinois that is doing a project
involving making remembrances for those who died to defend our country. I would like
to take this opportunity to thank you for your bravery and heroism during the Vietnam
War. Any person that has helped defend our country will always be remembered as a
hero. I never got the chance to meet you, but I want to thank you for everything that you
did. May God bless you and your family.
Sincerely,
Kelsey Zehr

Vic, you were my friend and God I miss you

Vic, you were loved by all that knew you. You are missed by all the loved you. The world is a safer but more lonely place for your passing. You hear people say its not fair, well maybe its not, but your sense of honor would not have let it have been different even it it had been your choice. God, I miss you and will always miss you. I cherish the time we had together, fishing, hunting, chasing girls, working on our old junk cars and working together in the woods. I and my family keep you alive by remembering you to each other and talking about you often. Remember the 3-2lbs steaks you ate in Denver at one setting? That had to be some kind of record. Man, we had fun but now its time to go on, not let go, just go on. You will be my friend for ever and will never be forgotten. I have so much I would like to say but I will keep most of it in my heart to share with you when I get to see you again. For now I will simply say for myself and for all of us who loved you, Victor my friend "Rest in your much deserved peace". Larry "Rusty" Lively
