Remembering An American Hero

Dear SGT Elving P Gutierrez-Oliveras, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir

Curt Carter

Family Never Forgets

To my Brave Cousin. I don't believe I ever met you as you had passed prior to my first trip to PR as a child. Your family, country, fellow soldiers and friends will never forget you.

Oliveras Family Salutes Our Soldier

In memory of you dear cousin, I uploaded your photo given to me today by your sister Andrea. You are forever in the hearts of your family, especially your mother Rosa who will be 90 years old this November. You represent the many island born Puerto Rican soldiers who fought for this country and the rights of all Americans. Puerto Rican's who have been an oversight for many years for their valiant military service and ultimate sacrifice. Your Oliveras family salutes you, Puerto Rico honors you with a monument in Yauco, Puerto Rico's plaza and we will never forget you!
