THE WALL OF FACES

I was little when you were my dad's best friend but I have memories of you and your family and m8ne with other military friends at cook outs. When my dad lost you it was a great loss for not only for your family but mine as well.

Thank you for your service to our country so long ago sir. While all deaths in Vietnam are tragic that you died just nine days after your 28th birthday is especially so. May you rest in eternal peace.

Staff Sergeant Thomas Leon Guthrie, Served with Company C, 2nd Battalion, 27th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade, 25th Infantry Division, United States Army Vietnam.

Unfortunately, I was too young to know SSgt. Thomas L. Guthrie, my dad’s brother. But I’ve learned so much about how he was a true example of courage, honor and valor. Our great country has done some senseless things but the way people like Tom gave themselves for others is anything but senseless. Thanks and R.I.P.

Dear Ssgt Thomas Guthrie,
Thank you for your service as an Infantryman. It has been too long, and it's about time for us all to acknowledge the sacrifices of those like you who answered our nation's call. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.
