I remember Robert, by Allen Nakaidinae
"There is one person that I remember back in Vietnam, Sergeant Robert Gumm; 'Shake and Bake.' He died in Vietnam. He once told me he worked for a Senator and had the opportunity to get a deferment from serving in the Armed Forces. He was from West
Virginia; a very Southern Gentleman, soft spoken, with pampered demeanor. I carry his memory as if it were yesterday."
These comments were taken from a letter from Allen Nakaidinae, who served with Robert Gumm in 2nd Platoon, Bravo Company 3rd Battalion 22nd Infantry, 25th Division in 1970.
