Aways in my heart
Gary was one of my best friends though out school. We played on little league together and i remember talking him into wrestling. I remember the sad day that I went to see his parents and give my condolences even before they sent his body home.
I attended a memorial service this morning and I remembered my friend Gary.

Knowing Gary
I went to Brentwood HS with Gary. He was a championship wrestler and great soccer player. Also a pretty good baseball player. I remember how proud his father was of him. He was a natural leader, always friendly and upbeat, and a good student. He was a beautiful, wonderful person and good friend. I'm 73 now and still shed a tear and break into a smile when I think of Gary.

Always on my mind
63 years later and it was like yesterday when the Army Chaplain came to inform me of your death and to pack up because I would be bringing you home from Viet Nam. God only knows the times that I have wished it had been the other way around. I miss you my dear brother as does the rest of the family.
