Remembering Steve Guardino
Steve and I, along with Joe Milice and Anthony Bonomico entered the Marines the same day and were in the same platoon in Boot Camp. They all lived in Norristown and went to Bishop Kendrick while I was from the neighboring town of Bridgeport. All of us went to Vietnam but were fortunate to return safely. Regrettably, Steve wasn't as fortunate. He could have refused to go to Vietnam because he was an only child, but he went nonetheless and was KIA nine months after enlisting. RIP old friend.

Thank You
Dear PFC Stephen Guardino,
Thank you for your service as an Assault Amphibious Vehicle Crewman. It has been too long, and it's about time for us all to acknowledge the sacrifices of those like you who answered our nation's call. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.

Grade School Friend
While I do not have a lot of memories of our times together in grade school, though we were in the same classes from third through eighth grade, I knew that Stehen was a classmate through another friend that had shared those years with us. Upon learning that we had lost him long after the fact, but, during the time that I was also there, put a human name and face to the dangerous times we were subjected to during our individual tour of service in Vietnam. I will now always remember Stephen.
