Grade School Friend
While I do not have a lot of memories of our times together in grade school, though we were in the same classes from third through eighth grade, I knew that Stehen was a classmate through another friend that had shared those years with us. Upon learning that we had lost him long after the fact, but, during the time that I was also there, put a human name and face to the dangerous times we were subjected to during our individual tour of service in Vietnam. I will now always remember Stephen.

Remembering Stephen Guardino
I knew Stephen, we both attended the same Catholic Grade School, Holy Savior, at the corner of Airy and Walnut Street in Norristown Pennsylvania. After eight grade we went separate ways, I went to a public school, Stephen went to High School at Bishop Kenrick. After school I joined the Marines where I ran into another Holy Savior Grade School Alumni (Joseph Carracappa) while undergoing infantry training prior to deploying to Vietnam. While in Vietnam I heard that Stephen had already been wounded twice receiving two Purple Hearts, but was sent back after recovering and was killed in action. It was a sad time.
