Remembering An American Hero
Dear LCPL Earl Gilbert Grubb, sir
As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.
May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.
With respect, Sir
Curt Carter

To my Gib
My Gib,
I know it has be 48 years since I lost you, but I am finally ready to post.
I long for our past days on the ranch together. The serenity of the rain we watched from the porch and the fresh feel after it--playing in the puddles and kicking mud at each other. Working cattle with dad, riding horses in the pastures to gather cattle, branding calves, leading our show calves down the canyon and showing them at the fair, your and Dub's football games and how we all cheered for you both, working in the garden and the fresh vegetables we had from it. Playing with our German Shepard Airus (you just brought home one day--that ended up being not only a wonderful faithful family pet we all loved dearly, but grew up to be a great cow dog) and you taking us swimming in the tank. So many precious memories that are so great about our youth are not forgotten and are still so strong in my memory. Your picture still to this day, hangs above the mantle fireplace in our living room at the ranch. You were a wonderful big brother and my hero that helped me and brought so much joy to my life, even still today. You will never be forgotten and I thank you for your patriotism to America. God bless America.
