We Will Remember
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.

At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.

Ground Casualty
SP5 Robert J. Grover was an infantryman and SP4 Eduardo Rivera-Pagan was a Petroleum Supply Specialist, both men serving with the 119th Assault Helicopter Company at Camp Radcliff in Binh Dinh Province, RVN. In early November 1968, SP5 Grover was winding down his tour in Vietnam. In the early evening of November 4th, he was in his billet in building #T-1197 packing personal items in preparation to return home. At approximately 6:45 PM, SP4 Rivera, armed with an M16 rifle, was seen to approach Grover. Witnesses said he confronted him over comments he made regarding Rivera’s manhood and other supposed disparaging remarks. Grover, sitting about ten feet away on a footlocker, denied that any statements were made. Rivera then opened fire, discharging approximately 14 rounds on full-auto when the weapon jammed. Grover fell backwards, fatally wounded. Rivera cleared the weapon, then turned it on himself, firing into his head. Both Grover and Rivera were transported to the 17th Field Hospital on Camp Radcliff where they were pronounced dead. [Taken from coffeltdatabase.org and U.S. Army CID investigation documents]
