honoring you...

Thank you for your service to our country so long ago sir. I am 73 and have lived a long and fulfilling life. It is tragic you never had that same opportunity. May you rest in eternal peace.

We would be 70 y/o this year.

Sgt M. A. Gross, we share the same birthday, 10/9/51 and we would be turning 70 y/o this year. While you served in the dank wet jungles of Vietnam, I served here in the states safe and sound, because of troops like you, who sacrificed it all for our nation. When our birthday rolls around this year I will hoist a cold in remembrance of you and all the troops who have given their all for their nation.

I tried to be sent to Vietnam, on several occasions, after I enlisted in May 1970, until we began to withdraw in 1973. I enlisted and became a FMF Corpsman served with both the 1st and 3rd Marine Divisions' Collecting and Clearing Companies. No matter how hard I tried, they would not send me.

I deeply respect you boys that went over there, especially those of you who did not come home. May all of our Fall Soldiers, Sailors, Marines, and Airman who have fall in defense of our nation or in the name of Democracy, May You All Rest In Peace. We must remember all of you.

Richelle A Kemnow, LPN (ret)
