Thank you for your service to our country so long ago sir. I am 72 and have lived a long and fulfilling life. It is tragic you never had that same opportunity. May you rest in eternal peace.

Corporal David Anthony Crilly, Served with Battery D, 8th Battalion, 6th Artillery Regiment, 1st Infantry Division, United States Army Vietnam.

PFC David A. Crilly was a Tactical Wire Operations Specialist serving with D Battery, 8th Battalion, 6th Artillery, 1st Infantry Division. The Headquarters for the U.S. Army's 1st Infantry Division was located at Lai Khe Base Camp, located along Highway 13 to the northwest of Saigon, RVN. On June 7, 1969, Crilly died of a reported accidental self-inflicted gunshot wound at Lai Khe. He was posthumously promoted to Corporal. [Taken from coffeltdatabase.org]
