A True Hero
I researched you on two other sites because you peaked my interest. One of your friends left a remembrance that left me wanting to know more about you. It seems that you had a very tough childhood and grew up in a boys' home, and didn't have many friends. When you graduated high-school you immediately joined the USMC. Oh, how proud you must've felt when you visited your old high school in your dress blues. Everyone who never talked to you or even picked on you saw you that day!! You are a true under dog. Then you went halfway around the world to Southeast Asia to fight for the the freedom of the same same people who looked down on you. You were killed by a booby trapped 60mm morter shell on the 4th of July 2969 in Quang Nam province SVN. PFC Robert A Griffin you are a true patriot and a hero!! God Bless you and rest easy in His arms.

Your USMC family does not forget
Years have passed by. We are a footnote in a high school history book. But, as Marines we don't forget. We instill pride in our new Few and the Proud. Remember all that have served. Honor the fallen they are our brothers and sisters

Friend from Boysville
I was just a young child when I came to know you, Robert Griffin. We were 10 years apart in age. As a youth living in Boysville I was probably 7 or 8 years old. You taught me how to catch a football. And then shortly after that you went away to the military. About a year later we learned of you fate. We all attended the funeral service at Universal City Baptist Church. I have never forgotten the man who became my friend. And having visit the wall in DC I was moved to find your name there permanently enshrined. Thank you, your little friend, Boyd Baxter
