I was in the same platoon as Bruce. He walked point and walked into am ambush that no one could have seen. He and three others were killed instantly. "I walk through the valley of evil, but I fear no evil because I am the meanest SOB in the valley was engraved on his lighter. He was a warrior. The chaplain ended his service with these words. "Don't let anymore tell you that these men died for nothing. They are warriors who died for their country as warriors have done going back throughout history.
